New neutron detector based on Micromegas technology for ADS projects

    Get PDF
A new neutron detector based on Micromegas technology has been developed for the measurement of the simulated neutron spectrum in the ADS project. After the presentation of simulated neutron spectra obtained in the interaction of 140 MeV protons with the spallation target inside the TRIGA core, a full description of the new detector configuration is given. The advantage of this detector compared to conventional neutron flux detectors and the results obtained with the first prototype at the CELINA 14 MeV neutron source facility at CEA-Cadarache are presented. The future developments of operational Piccolo-Micromegas for fast neutron reactors are also described

A reference map of the human binary protein interactome.

Global insights into cellular organization and genome function require comprehensive understanding of the interactome networks that mediate genotype-phenotype relationships(1,2). Here we present a human 'all-by-all' reference interactome map of human binary protein interactions, or 'HuRI'. With approximately 53,000 protein-protein interactions, HuRI has approximately four times as many such interactions as there are high-quality curated interactions from small-scale studies. The integration of HuRI with genome(3), transcriptome(4) and proteome(5) data enables cellular function to be studied within most physiological or pathological cellular contexts. We demonstrate the utility of HuRI in identifying the specific subcellular roles of protein-protein interactions. Inferred tissue-specific networks reveal general principles for the formation of cellular context-specific functions and elucidate potential molecular mechanisms that might underlie tissue-specific phenotypes of Mendelian diseases. HuRI is a systematic proteome-wide reference that links genomic variation to phenotypic outcomes

This article focuses on the notation system of the traveller’s body in Peregrinação by Fernão Mendes Pinto, published in 1614. Thanks to a deliberate staging of bodily suffering, a sort of new ontology is developed. Despite durable exposure to bodily pain, the journey is always the experience of a decentralisation of the self, mainly visible through the near absence of narrative markers, allowing a heuristic openness. Through their multiple meanings, such statements demonstrate the reorganisation of 16th-century travel narratives

The article´s proposition is to establish a study program about a specific type of mediation incorporated by a french traveller in Brazil, Ferdinand Denis (1798-1890). Taking a preliminary explored dossier, it seems possible to bring into the picture the several approaches of his productions both in France and Brazil.L’article se propose comme un programme d’étude encore à venir sur le type de médiation incarnée par un voyageur français au Brésil, Ferdinand Denis (1798-1890).
